Carlos Mortensen was born April 13th 1972 in Ecuador. He is renowned as an aggressive player and a very talented opponent and managed to win the World Series main event in 2001. He moved over to America from Spain around ten years ago to pursue a career in poker, and has done remarkably well.

Although he only has two bracelets so far, he also has two prestigious WPT titles to his name. Carlos is sponsored by Full Tilt and has live tournament earnings recorded at $8.5 million. He has 15 cashes to his name at the World Series and the second of his two bracelets came in the $5,000 Limit Holdem event in 2003. As a true professional poker player many would consider him the last main event winner who played poker for a living, and it would be great to see another pro win the event in my opinion.
Carlos has appeared in televised tournaments too, such as the invitational poker superstars tournament where he reached the semi finals, and he continues to find great success in most of his endeavours. One area which he has not excelled in quite so much, would be the EPT. Carlos has had one cash in the EPT but has never reached a final table or won a title here. Perhaps this would be his next aspiration, although having not won a bracelet for five years must play on his mind somewhat too.
Whatever comes next for Carlos Mortensen, he is certainly the most famous player to ever come from his particular part of the world, and his style of play continues to impress fans and players alike.

The types of poker you can play online depend largely on which site you are playing on. There are sites out there which only offer Texas Holdem, although most offer a variety. You could say that probably every site in existence offers at the very least, Holdem. I have yet to see a site that does not, but the more usual list of games you will find online are Omaha, Stud, and Holdem.

Omaha is often offered in normal and hi/lo varieties and the same applies to Stud. Sometimes you will also find Five Card Stud offered as well as the more traditional Seven Card. I would say certainly that the online industry should look to offer as many games as possible, but then as a player myself, of course I want as much choice as possible. From the online sites perspective, they gain nothing from having lesser known games available that hardly anyone will use, and so we cannot be too hard on sites that do not have a large variety.
Increases in the amount of games available on a site are usually going to be a byproduct of increased player traffic remember.
Some sites you will find offer the basic three games and also one or two extras in the form of either five card draw, Razz or even Triple Draw. But these games are hard to find, Pokerstars being one site which offers all of these games. Overall, as I mentioned, it would be good to have extra variety on most sites as even the most stoic Holdem player gets tired of the game sometimes and needs a change. But this will always be subject to a reasonable amount of interest from players online.
